Panels and Lectures
Keynote Speaker - Orion Tait, Partner at Buck
There’s more to motion graphics than design and animation. Panelists explore the role that producers play in the pipeline of a motion design company. What are the different skill-sets that make a good producer, and how can a producer make or break a project? Producers and directors on the panel discuss these traits so that students can understand another career path available to them within the industry.
We don’t always win that pitch. Panelists discuss difficulties that they have had while working in the industry, and how they managed to overcome them. How do we use failure and mistakes to develop and grow? Discussion will include panelists sharing personal experiences and offer advice on how these shortcomings can make you a better artist.
Artists come from all walks of life. Panelists share how their different backgrounds, skill sets, interests, and external hobbies come together to influence their work. How have your differences benefited your work? What are the benefits to having diversity in a work setting? Artists, Directors, and Producers discuss how these differences contribute to a working environment.
Students will be given the opportunity to meet individually with attending companies to show them their body of work and receive beneficial feedback. For employers, this is a great way to gain one-on-one time with students to scope out their skill-set, while students are provided with valuable feedback to make their portfolio even stronger.
On Saturday evening, Seniors & Graduate students are invited to a private networking social. All CoMotion attendees are encouraged to join us for the Saturday evening Reception for refreshments and music.
